Video Therapy – Canada
Psychotherapy for Healing from Family Scapegoating and Narcissistic Spectrum Abuse
I provide online psychotherapy in Canada for adults who are recovering from family scapegoating, narcissistic abuse and other emotionally harmful relationships.
You may understand that the way you were treated was harmful, yet continue to experience emotional or psychological difficulties as a result.
You may struggle with:
- The effects of childhood emotional abuse or neglect, such as chronic low self worth, anxiety or loneliness
- Trauma related to family scapegoating or abusive relationships
- Complicated grief and loss
- Anxiety and chronic emotional distress
- Low self worth, shame or persistent self doubt
- Trouble trusting yourself and others
- Relationship challenges and unhealthy patterns
- Difficulty establishing healthy boundaries
- A painful sense that you have lost touch with who you are
Therapy provides a deeper space to understand what went wrong in the family dynamics that harmed you and to work through the effects those experiences continue to have on your emotional wellbeing, identity and relationships.
What Therapy Can Help You Address and Heal
Understanding the Origins of Your Personal Challenges
We can explore the family and relationship dynamics that shaped your experiences and understand how those experiences may continue to influence the way you think, feel and relate to others.
Working Through Trauma and Emotional Pain
Therapy can provide a supportive space to process painful experiences, understand their effects and develop healthier ways of responding to situations that continue to trigger distress.
Challenging Internalized Shame and Self Blame
Repeated criticism, rejection and invalidation can undermine the way you see yourself.
Therapy can help you examine negative beliefs, distinguish responsibility from blame, and develop a more accurate and compassionate sense of yourself.
Rebuilding Your Sense of Self
As you separate your identity from the scapegoat role your family assigned to you, you can begin developing greater self trust, confidence and clarity about your needs, values and direction.
Healing Relationship Patterns
We can explore patterns that may have developed through earlier relationships and how they impact your connections today.
This may include working through difficulties with trust, intimacy, communication, boundaries or choosing and maintaining healthy family, friendship or intimate relationships.
Working Through Grief and Loss
Healing from family scapegoating can involve grieving the childhood, family relationships, belonging and emotional safety you needed but did not receive.
Therapy can provide space for that grief while helping you move toward a life that is more emotionally safe and fulfilling.
The 5 R Model of Family Scapegoat Recovery
My approach to healing is guided by the 5 R Model I’ve developed:
Recognize – Understand What Went Wrong in Your Family of Origin, and How You Were Harmed
Reality Test – Separate Your Family Story From the Truth
Reclaim – Restore Your True Sense of Self
Rebuild – Create a Better Life Aligned With Your Legitimate Needs and Values
Reorient – Find Freedom and Turn Toward the Life You Want and Deserve
The 5 R model provides a framework for understanding the recovery process, while therapy is tailored to your individual history, needs and goals.
My Approach to Therapy
I take a practical and individualized approach to psychotherapy.
I do not believe that one method or one formula works for everyone. I draw on my professional training and experience to understand the particular issues you are bringing to therapy and to help you identify meaningful ways forward.
My work may include exploring personal and relationship patterns, processing painful experiences, challenging deeply rooted conscious and unconscious beliefs, strengthening self trust, developing healthier boundaries and connections, and helping you feel more confident about making wise decisions that support and protect the life you want and deserve.

Why Choose Me As Your Family Scapegoat & Narcissistic Abuse Therapist?
I am a Psychotherapist, Coach and Author who has specialized in family scapegoating and narcissistic abuse recovery since 2014.
My broader professional training includes certification as a couples counselor, addictions counselor and hypnotherapist, giving me wide experience in cultivating positive relationship change, incorporating attachment and human development theory, developing healthy coping patterns, trauma resolution and working with the body-mind pathway to facilitate positive psychological growth.
I also developed the 5 R Model of Family Scapegoat Recovery through years of clinical experience, observation and trial and error. Because there is no single established roadmap for recovering from family scapegoating and narcissistic abuse, I developed a practical framework based on what I have found helps people move through the recovery process.
